Friends Not Foes
In 1906, when Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah joined the Indian National Congress, the Hindu majority party, 15 years earlier than the great Mahatma Gandhi, by constantly rising to prominence in the party, he had no intention, whatsoever, as the history’s analytical fact, to leave the party in general and the Hindu majority Mainland India in particular as proved by his 1916 Lucknow Pact intending to bring Hindu-Muslim into the Friendship and Unity to confront the British unruly rule. Also, Quaid-e-Azam palyed a critical role in the creation of ‘All India Home Rule League’ in the end of 1916, the very initial official loud demand of Hindu-Muslim for the joint self rule of the entire Motherland of India as Friends Not Foes threatening the British rule for the future.
Nonetheless, as the stakes were too high among the international powers, specially the British Colonial Power to quit the resourceful land of India, already enslaving the sub-continent for over a century by its simple but unjust ‘Divide and Rule’ method, then , in the very circumventive and dangerous ways, unfortunately, effecting until now , the disguise hate and adversary was fibered between Hindus and Muslims hacking the very fibers of Friendship and Love that had kept the two of the greatest civilizations together, the world has ever known, living side by side affectionately for almost one thousand years as Friends Not Foes.
Eventually, due to the constant uncompromising perilous practices to keep India continuing occupied under the British imperial rule , whatever the arguments brought by the critics, at last, these two grand civilizations, rich in hospitable friendly culture, known for their noble piety, pity and hospitality, strained by the situation that encircled demoted India, as verified by the Mualana Abu Kalam Azad’s, one of the Muslim co-founder of Congress Party and a staunch activist for the great cause of Indian liberation, stayed until his death in India , existing letters to Quaid-e-Azam concerning his and Gandhi Jee’s worries about the contemporary dire state of Inida, , compromised to divide the Unique Motherland India into two nations of sub-continent with no option but, indeed, with the unhesitant willingness to live side by side again, as done in the past, as the two good neighbors and Friends Not Foes letting in between them just a geographical line not conceptual one!
However, last not least, as the statistical historical proof of Muslims being as Friends Not Foes of India, the noble enthusiasm of Muslims of both sides to turn, again, India rich and progressive is confirmed during the partition in 1947, when the rich and powerful majority among Indian Muslims, around 70% of total, chose to be remain in Mainland India, yet as a weaker minority, as compare to only 30%, the weakest ones, were got to migrated to the other side and even that was due to the British repulsive legacy left behind as a result of its century long biased and dividing rule over India that influenced some of its non-Muslim minority groups to react in the hatred way against the Muslim neighbors living next to each other for centuries. Nonetheless, the most amazing fact of Muslims of both sides being Friends Not Foes of India is that, through 1947 to 1960, 10% but stable and richer among total Muslims population in current Bangladesh and Pakistan, , migrated out of their majority land to their Main land of opportunity, My India, to become minority bringing with them not only the wealth but knowledge and luck too as Friends Not Foes.
Last not least, as it was quoted by one of the wise and great western leader, “You can change your enemy in the world, but you cannot change your neighbor”; so, the choice is ours to live along as Friends Not Foes.
